Description

This No Bake Chocolate Pudding Pie is a rich, creamy dessert featuring layers of instant chocolate pudding and whipped topping in a chocolate cookie crust. Quick to assemble and chilled to perfection, it’s an easy and indulgent treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Pudding Layer

  • 2 (3.9 oz) boxes Jell-O Instant Chocolate Pudding
  • 2½ cups cold milk (2% or whole)

Whipped Topping Layer

  • 8 oz tub Cool Whip

Pie Crust and Decoration

  • 1 (6 oz) chocolate cookie pie crust
  • Chocolate bar (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pudding: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until well combined and thickened. This usually takes about 2 minutes.
  2. Layer Bottom Pudding: Spoon half of the prepared chocolate pudding evenly into the bottom of the chocolate cookie pie crust, smoothing it out with a spatula.
  3. Mix Whipped Topping and Pudding: Add half of the Cool Whip tub to the remaining pudding in the bowl. Stir gently until the mixture is well combined and becomes light and fluffy.
  4. Layer Whipped Pudding: Spoon the whipped topping and pudding mixture evenly over the layer of plain pudding in the crust and spread with a spatula for a smooth finish.
  5. Add Final Whipped Topping Layer: Spoon the remaining Cool Whip evenly on top of the second pudding layer. For an elegant touch, shave chocolate from a chocolate bar over the top as decoration, if desired.
  6. Chill Pie: Place the pie in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours or until firm before serving.

Notes

  • Use cold milk to help the pudding set properly.
  • For a firmer pie, allow chilling for longer than 2 hours.
  • Chocolate shavings on top add a nice decorative touch but are optional.
  • Substitute Cool Whip with homemade whipped cream for a fresher taste.
  • This pie is best enjoyed within 2 days of preparation.
