Description

A refreshing and aromatic iced masala coffee that combines warm spices with bold Indian espresso and creamy almond milk, sweetened naturally with coconut or palm sugar. Perfect for a quick, energizing drink with a delightful spicy twist.

Ingredients

Syrup Ingredients

  • 6 cloves
  • 10 peppercorns
  • 3 green cardamom pods (crushed)
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 tablespoon coconut or palm sugar
  • ¼ cup water

Coffee Ingredients

  • 30 ml NESCAFÉ Farmers Origins Espresso India
  • 100 ml chilled almond milk
  • Half a cup of ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Masala Syrup: Place cloves, peppercorns, crushed green cardamom pods, star anise, coconut or palm sugar, and ¼ cup water in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes to infuse the spices into the syrup. Strain the syrup into a small jar and set aside.
  2. Assemble the Iced Masala Coffee: Fill a tumbler (approximately 300 ml capacity) with half a cup of ice. Pour the prepared masala syrup over the ice followed by the chilled almond milk. Stir gently to combine and chill the mixture evenly.
  3. Add the Coffee: Slowly pour 30 ml of NESCAFÉ Farmers Origins Espresso India coffee over the iced milk and syrup mixture in the tumbler. Do not stir after pouring to retain the coffee’s layered effect. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing, spiced iced coffee.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by modifying the amount of coconut or palm sugar used in the syrup.
  • For a dairy alternative, almond milk is recommended, but any plant-based milk can be used.
  • Crushing the cardamom pods helps to release their flavor more effectively into the syrup.
  • Serving tip: add extra ice if you prefer a colder, more diluted coffee.
  • To make the syrup ahead, store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
