Description

This Very Berry Smoothie is a refreshing and nutritious blend of mixed berries, banana, spinach, and nuts, combined with creamy milk and yogurt for a deliciously healthy drink. Perfect for a quick breakfast or a revitalizing snack, it’s easy to make and packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and protein.

Ingredients

Base

  • 1 cup milk (any kind, dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt with a dollop of honey)

Fruits and Vegetables

  • 1/2 banana, sliced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, etc.)
  • 1 cup baby spinach, packed

Add-ins

  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
  • 2 tablespoons raw pecan halves (or any other raw nut)
  • Optional: 1-2 scoops unsweetened protein powder

Instructions

  1. Combine liquids and dairy: Start by adding 1 cup of milk and 1/4 cup of vanilla Greek yogurt into a high-powered blender to create a creamy base for the smoothie.
  2. Add remaining ingredients: Add 1/2 sliced banana, 1 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 cup packed baby spinach, 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed, 2 tablespoons raw pecan halves, and optional protein powder to the blender.
  3. Blend until smooth: Blend the mixture until completely smooth. You may need to stop and stir or shake the blender to ensure all ingredients are evenly incorporated. If the smoothie is too thick, gradually add up to 1/2 cup more milk until desired consistency is reached.

Notes

  • Use any milk type you prefer, such as almond, soy, oat, or dairy milk.
  • Substitute vanilla Greek yogurt with plain yogurt and a spoonful of honey for sweetness.
  • Frozen mixed berries can include your favorite berries like strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries.
  • Add more or less spinach depending on your taste preference.
  • Ground flaxseed adds fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, but you can omit it if unavailable.
  • For extra protein, include unsweetened protein powder as desired.
  • Adjust milk quantity to reach preferred smoothie thickness.
