Description
These Turkey Roll Ups are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer inspired by Costco’s popular snack. Combining creamy cranberry-flavored cream cheese, Swiss cheese, deli turkey, fresh romaine, and tomato all wrapped in a soft tortilla, these roll ups are perfect for parties, lunches, or a light snack. Chilling the rolls before slicing ensures they hold their shape for perfect presentation and easy eating.
Ingredients
Spread Mixture
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3 tablespoons whole berry cranberry sauce
Fillings
- 3 burrito-sized tortillas
- 1/4 pound sliced deli turkey (about 6 large slices)
- 12 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 romaine leaves
- 1 tomato, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and whole berry cranberry sauce. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Spread the Mixture on Tortillas: Evenly spread the cream cheese and cranberry mixture onto each of the three tortillas, covering as much surface area as possible.
- Add Swiss Cheese Layer: Place the 12 slices of Swiss cheese over the cream cheese mixture on the tortillas, ensuring good coverage to help bind the roll ups.
- Layer Turkey and Vegetables: Arrange the sliced deli turkey over the cheese layer. Then, lay the romaine leaves and thinly sliced tomato in a line down the center of each tortilla.
- Roll the Tortillas: Beginning at one end parallel to the line of fillings, roll each tortilla tightly into a log shape. Wrap each rolled tortilla snugly in plastic wrap.
- Chill the Roll Ups: Refrigerate the wrapped tortillas for 30 minutes to 1 hour. This step firms up the rolls, making them easier to slice and serve.
- Slice and Serve: Remove the plastic wrap, then slice each roll into 1-inch thick pieces. Serve immediately for best freshness and flavor.
Notes
- For easier slicing, make sure the cream cheese is softened before mixing.
- Wrap the roll ups tightly in plastic wrap to maintain their shape during chilling.
- These roll ups can be prepared a few hours in advance and kept refrigerated until serving.
- Use burrito-sized tortillas for optimal size and convenience.
- Feel free to substitute Swiss cheese with another cheese like provolone or cheddar based on preference.
