Description
A refreshing and tropical Strawberry Piña Colada Smoothie made with frozen strawberries, pineapple chunks, and creamy coconut milk. This smoothie blends the natural sweetness of banana and fresh fruits with crunchy almonds and optional shredded coconut for an easy, nutrient-packed drink perfect for a quick breakfast or a healthy snack.
Ingredients
Smoothie Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk (recommended: full-fat canned version; or substitute coconut water or preferred milk)
- 1/2 banana (frozen, sliced)
- 1/2 cup strawberries (frozen)
- 1/2 cup pineapple chunks (frozen)
- 2 tablespoons raw almonds (sliced or slivered; substitute raw cashews or macadamia nuts)
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
Instructions
- Add Coconut Milk and Fruits: Start by pouring 1 cup of unsweetened coconut milk into a high-powered blender. Then, add the frozen banana slices, frozen strawberries, frozen pineapple chunks, and raw almonds. If using, add the unsweetened shredded coconut as well.
- Blend to Smooth: Blend all the ingredients until smooth. You may need to stop the blender occasionally to stir or shake the contents, ensuring an even blend. If the smoothie is too thick, gradually add up to 1/2 cup more coconut milk to achieve your desired consistency.
Notes
- Using frozen fruits helps achieve a thick and cold smoothie texture without needing ice.
- Full-fat canned coconut milk provides a richer and creamier taste, but coconut water or other milk alternatives can be used for a lighter option.
- Raw nuts add a nice texture and healthy fats; feel free to substitute with cashews or macadamia nuts to vary flavor.
- Unsweetened shredded coconut is optional but adds extra tropical flavor and texture.
