Ingredients
Marshmallows and Coatings
- 24 regular sized marshmallows
- 12 ounces green candy melts (Wilton recommended)
- 12 ounces white candy melts (Wilton recommended)
Decorations
- Gold and silver confetti sprinkles
- Gold, silver & green sanding sugar
- Gold food color spray
- Black food sparkle gel
Instructions
- Prepare workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside to dry the marshmallows after dipping.
- Melt candy melts: In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt 1 to 1½ cups of one color candy melts following the package instructions carefully to avoid overheating. Stir until smooth and glossy.
- Dip marshmallows: Place a marshmallow on a stick, inserting the stick all the way through except for the top marshmallow. Dip the marshmallow into the melted candy at a 45° angle, twisting the stick to fully cover it. Tap gently on the edge of the bowl to remove excess coating. If using sprinkles or sanding sugar, apply them immediately while the coating is still wet for better adhesion.
- Dry marshmallows: Once dipped, carefully remove the marshmallow from the stick using scissors and place it on the parchment paper with the hole facing upwards. For a smooth top finish, insert the stick into a piece of styrofoam to dry upright.
- Repeat dipping: Repeat the dipping and decorating process with the other candy melt color until all marshmallows are coated and decorated as desired.
- Assemble pops: After all marshmallows have fully dried, assemble three marshmallows per stick and enjoy these festive treats.
Notes
- Be careful not to overheat candy melts as they can seize and become unusable.
- Use scissors to gently remove marshmallows from sticks to avoid damage.
- Apply sprinkles or sanding sugar only when the coating is wet for best results.
- The sticks can be reused or replaced as needed for assembling the marshmallow pops.
- Store finished marshmallow pops in a cool, dry place to prevent melting or stickiness.
