Description

A delightful Smoked Salmon Pizza combining a crispy prepared pizza crust topped with a flavorful dill cream cheese spread, thinly sliced shallots, melted mozzarella, fresh baby arugula, and delicate smoked salmon finished with fresh lemon zest and Parmesan for a gourmet twist.

Ingredients

Base and Spread

  • 7 tablespoons whipped cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 heaping tablespoon fresh dill, plus more for garnish
  • 1 whole prepared pizza crust
  • 2-3 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), as needed
  • 2-3 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning

Toppings

  • 1 medium shallot, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2/3 heaping cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon or cured salmon
  • 1 whole lemon, zested
  • Couple handfuls baby arugula
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, to taste
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prep Pan: Arrange the oven rack to the center position and preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil sprayed with nonstick cooking spray for easy cleanup, then set aside.
  2. Flavor Cream Cheese: In a small bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese, fresh dill, salt, and pepper. Use a fork to mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Top Pizza with Cream Cheese, Shallot, and Mozzarella: Place the prepared pizza crust on the baking sheet. Brush the entire crust edge to edge with olive oil using a pastry brush. Sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning evenly over the edges, leaving the center bare. Spread the flavored cream cheese evenly over the center area between the seasoned edges. Scatter the thinly sliced shallots evenly over the cream cheese, then top with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Bake White Pizza: Transfer the assembled pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the mozzarella is melted and the crust edges turn golden brown.
  5. Cool Slightly, Top with Smoked Salmon and Optional Toppings: Remove the pizza from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool for a few minutes. Scatter the baby arugula leaves over the melted mozzarella. Arrange the smoked salmon pieces evenly across the pizza. Sprinkle lemon zest, freshly grated Parmesan cheese, fresh dill, freshly cracked black pepper, and additional salt if needed over the top.
  6. Slice and Serve Smoked Salmon Pizza: Slice the pizza into wedges and serve immediately for best flavor and texture. Enjoy this elegant and easy smoked salmon pizza!

Notes

  • Use a prepared pizza crust such as store-bought thin crust or flatbread for convenience and crisp texture.
  • Baby arugula adds a peppery freshness but can be substituted with baby spinach or other leafy greens if preferred.
  • Everything bagel seasoning enhances the flavor around the crust edges; adjust amount to taste.
  • Room temperature cream cheese mixes easier with dill and seasonings for a smooth spread.
  • This pizza is best served fresh right out of the oven with the smoked salmon added at the end to preserve its delicate texture.
