Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Slow Cooker Little Smokies simmered in a sweet and savory honey garlic BBQ sauce. Perfect as a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a simple family dinner when served with rice and veggies.

Ingredients

Slow Cooker Little Smokies Ingredients

  • 48 ounces lil’ smokies or cocktail wieners, drained
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Place the 48 ounces of drained lil’ smokies into the crockpot evenly.
  2. Add Sauce Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup honey, 4 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, and 6 cloves minced garlic. Stir well to mix.
  3. Coat the Smokies: Pour the prepared honey garlic BBQ sauce over the lil’ smokies in the crockpot. Stir gently to ensure all the smokies are well coated with the sauce.
  4. Cook the Smokies: Cover the crockpot and cook on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, or on LOW for 4 hours, until the smokies are hot and the sauce is thickened and bubbly.
  5. Final Stir and Warm: Give everything another good stir to mix well, then decrease the heat to WARM or LOW to keep warm for serving.
  6. Serve: Serve the little smokies right out of the crockpot with toothpicks for a convenient appetizer. Alternatively, serve over rice with a side salad or steamed vegetables for a kid-friendly dinner.

Notes

  • Use fully cooked lil’ smokies for quick prep.
  • If thicker sauce is desired, remove the lid in the last 30 minutes to allow some liquid to evaporate.
  • Serve with rice or veggies to make it a complete meal.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated gently before serving.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce salt content if preferred.
