Description
This Sheet Pan Gnocchi with Sausage and Broccoli is a quick and easy meal perfect for busy weeknights. Combining tender gnocchi, savory Italian sausage, and roasted broccoli, all baked together on a single sheet pan, it delivers comforting flavors and a satisfying texture with minimal cleanup.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 16 oz. shelf stable potato gnocchi (or refrigerated gnocchi)
- 1 lb. broccoli heads, cut into bite size pieces (reserve large stem for another use)
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic (about 3 cloves)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 lb. hot or mild Italian sausage
- 1/3 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare Oven and Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly spray a rimmed 18 by 13-inch baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Combine Vegetables and Seasoning: Place the potato gnocchi and bite-sized broccoli pieces on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle minced garlic evenly over the top and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Drizzle with olive oil and toss everything gently to coat the gnocchi and broccoli evenly. Spread the mixture out in an even layer on the pan.
- Add Sausage: Break the Italian sausage into approximately 1-inch pieces and scatter them evenly over the gnocchi and broccoli on the sheet pan.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the sausage is fully cooked through and the broccoli is slightly browned and tender.
- Add Parmesan: Remove the sheet pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle the finely grated Parmesan cheese over the hot gnocchi, sausage, and broccoli mixture. Serve warm.
Notes
- You can use either shelf stable or refrigerated gnocchi based on availability.
- For a milder dish, use mild Italian sausage; for more heat, choose hot Italian sausage.
- Be careful when tossing ingredients on the baking sheet to avoid squashing the gnocchi.
- Reserve the large broccoli stem for another recipe like soups or stir-fries to avoid waste.
- If you prefer a cheesier dish, add more Parmesan or sprinkle some mozzarella before baking.
