Description

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with these fun and festive Shamrock Shake Pudding Shots, a boozy adult treat featuring creamy vanilla pudding blended with creme de menthe for a delightful minty twist. Perfect for parties, these pudding shots are easy to make ahead and topped with whipped cream and maraschino cherries for a whimsical finish.

Ingredients

Equipment

  • 12 2 oz plastic soufflé cups with lids

Pudding Mixture

  • 1 3 oz box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup crème de menthe liqueur
  • 8 oz tub Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1-2 drops green food coloring

Garnish

  • Whipped cream
  • Maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cups: Lay out the 12 plastic soufflé cups on a large plate or tray to have them ready for filling.
  2. Mix pudding base: In a medium mixing bowl, pour the instant vanilla pudding mix.
  3. Add liquids and stir: Add the cold milk and vanilla extract to the pudding mix and stir well to combine.
  4. Add liqueur: Pour in the crème de menthe liqueur and stir to fully incorporate it into the pudding mixture.
  5. Fold in Cool Whip: Gently fold in the thawed Cool Whip with a spatula and stir until well blended and smooth.
  6. Add green color: Add 1 to 2 drops of green food coloring and stir thoroughly until you reach the desired shamrock green shade.
  7. Fill cups: Spoon the pudding mixture into each plastic cup, filling nearly to the top.
  8. Chill: Place the filled cups in the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to set.
  9. Cover if storing: If not serving immediately after chilling, place lids on the cups and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
  10. Garnish and serve: Just before serving, top each pudding shot with a dollop of whipped cream and a maraschino cherry for a festive finish.

Notes

  • Make sure to chill the pudding shots long enough for the best texture—overnight is ideal.
  • The amount of green food coloring can be adjusted to achieve your preferred shade.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the crème de menthe and add extra vanilla or mint extract.
  • Use small plastic cups for easy serving and portion control at parties.
  • Keep pudding shots refrigerated until immediately before serving to maintain freshness and texture.
