Description

This easy and delightful Oven S’mores recipe brings the classic campfire treat indoors using your oven’s broiler. Golden toasted marshmallows paired with melty chocolate sandwiched between crunchy graham crackers make for a perfect, quick dessert or snack that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 12 graham cracker sheet halves
  • 6 (1/2 ounce each) squares good quality chocolate (such as Lindt Intense Orange Dark Chocolate or Lindt milk chocolate)
  • 6 large marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Lightly grease a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray to prevent the marshmallows from sticking during broiling.
  2. Preheat broiler: Place the oven rack in the center position and preheat your broiler for 2 to 3 minutes to get it ready for toasting marshmallows.
  3. Place marshmallows on sheet: Lay the marshmallows on the baking sheet, either on their sides or upright, whichever way will allow their tops to toast evenly and remain level.
  4. Toast first side: Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and broil the marshmallows until golden brown. This should take approximately 30 seconds to 2 minutes—watch carefully to avoid burning.
  5. Arrange graham crackers and chocolate: Lay out 6 graham cracker halves on a flat surface. If you prefer melty, runny chocolate, place the chocolate squares over these crackers now; otherwise, you can add the chocolate later.
  6. Toast opposite side of marshmallows: Flip the toasted marshmallows so the golden-browned side faces down, then set them on top of the chocolate-covered or plain graham crackers. Return the sheet to the oven to toast the opposite side of the marshmallows until just golden brown, about 30 seconds.
  7. Assemble s’mores: Remove from oven and, if you haven’t already added the chocolate, place the remaining chocolate squares on top of the toasted marshmallows. Finally, sandwich the s’mores by placing the remaining 6 graham cracker halves on top.

Notes

  • Keep a close eye on the marshmallows while broiling as they toast quickly and can burn within seconds.
  • Using high-quality chocolate enhances the flavor of your s’mores.
  • You can customize the chocolate type to your preference, such as dark, milk, or flavored chocolate.
  • This recipe uses the oven broiler method, so ensure your oven rack is at the correct height.
  • For an extra gooey treat, add a little butter over the chocolate before assembling.
