Description

A flavorful and easy Mongolian Beef and Noodles recipe featuring ground beef cooked in a savory hoisin-soy glaze, combined with tender spaghetti for a quick and satisfying meal ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Beef and Sauce

  • 1 Pound Ground Beef
  • 2 Tbs Vegetable Oil
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbs Fresh Ginger, grated or minced
  • 2 Tbs Honey
  • 1/3 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  • 1 Tbs Corn Starch
  • 3 Tbs Cold Water

Noodles

  • 1 Pound Spaghetti, boiled in salted water

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it into small pieces with a wooden spoon or spatula. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease if needed.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Reduce heat to medium. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
  3. Add Sauce Ingredients: Add the honey, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and beef broth to the skillet. Stir everything together and let the sauce gently simmer for 3 to 4 minutes to blend the flavors.
  4. Thicken Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Slowly pour this slurry into the skillet while stirring continuously. Allow the sauce to simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
  5. Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked and drained spaghetti to the skillet. Toss thoroughly until the noodles are evenly coated with the Mongolian beef sauce. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For best flavor, use freshly grated ginger and fresh garlic.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, increase cornstarch to 1.5 tablespoons.
  • Make sure to drain the cooked pasta well to prevent watery sauce.
  • Ground beef can be substituted with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Adjust the amount of honey according to your desired sweetness.
