Description

A simple and nourishing Matcha Overnight Oats recipe that combines the vibrant flavor of matcha with creamy non-dairy milk, fiber-rich oats, and chia seeds. This easy no-cook breakfast is ready by morning and can be customized with your favorite toppings like fresh fruit or nuts for a delicious and energizing start to your day.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3/4 tsp Matcha powder
  • 2 Tbsp Hot water
  • 1/2 Cup Non-dairy milk (such as almond or oat milk)
  • 1/2 Cup Old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 tsp Maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp Chia seeds

Toppings (optional)

  • Fresh fruit (e.g. berries, sliced banana, mango)
  • Chopped nuts (e.g. almonds, walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Matcha Mixture: In a jar or container with a tight-fitting lid, combine 3/4 tsp matcha powder with 2 tbsp hot water. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds to dissolve the matcha and break up any clumps for a smooth mixture.
  2. Add Oats and Flavorings: To the jar, add 1/2 cup non-dairy milk, 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 1/2 tsp maple syrup, and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Then add 1 tbsp chia seeds. Secure the lid again and shake well for about 10 seconds until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Refrigerate Overnight: Place the jar in the refrigerator and let the mixture soak overnight, or for at least 6-8 hours, allowing the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and soften.
  4. Serve and Enjoy: The next morning, remove the lid and stir the oats mixture to combine evenly. Top with your choice of fresh fruit or chopped nuts for added texture and flavor before eating.

Notes

  • Use non-dairy milk like almond, oat, or soy milk for a vegan option.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup to taste.
  • For clump-free matcha, shake vigorously or whisk with a small whisk or milk frother if preferred.
  • Chia seeds add thickness and extra fiber but can be omitted if desired.
  • Overnight oats can be stored refrigerated up to 2 days for convenience.
