Description
These Homemade Funfetti Marshmallow Popcorn Treats combine sweet, crunchy popcorn with melted marshmallows, cake batter protein powder, and colorful sprinkles for a festive, easy-to-make snack that’s perfect for parties or anytime you want a fun treat.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter
- 7 cups popped popcorn (about 6-7 cups)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 scoop cake batter protein powder
- 50 regular size marshmallows
- Funfetti sprinkles (amount as desired)
- Optional: White chocolate for drizzling
Instructions
- Pop the Popcorn: Prepare your popcorn by popping kernels via stovetop, microwave, or air popper until you have about 6-7 cups of popped popcorn ready to use.
- Melt the Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over low heat. Once melted, add the 50 regular size marshmallows and stir continuously until the mixture is completely smooth and melted.
- Add Flavor and Protein: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for extra flavor, followed by one scoop of cake batter protein powder. Mix thoroughly to combine.
- Coat the Popcorn: Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the popped popcorn. Gently toss with a spatula or wooden spoon until all the popcorn is evenly coated.
- Add Sprinkles: Sprinkle funfetti sprinkles over the coated popcorn and give everything a final gentle toss to distribute the sprinkles throughout the mixture.
- Shape the Treats: Transfer the popcorn mixture to a baking dish or sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Using a spatula or hands lightly sprayed with cooking spray to prevent sticking, firmly press the mixture into an even, flat layer.
- Optional Chocolate Drizzle: If desired, melt white chocolate and drizzle it over the top of the pressed popcorn treats. Add extra sprinkles on top if you like for an extra festive touch.
- Set and Serve: Allow the treats to cool and firm up at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut into squares or break into clusters and enjoy your colorful, fun snack!
Notes
- You can use any popping method for the popcorn—stovetop, microwave, or air popper—all work great.
- Lightly coating your hands or spatula with cooking spray helps prevent sticking while pressing the treats into the pan.
- For extra flavor, white chocolate drizzle and additional sprinkles are optional but recommended.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days for best freshness.
- Adjust the amount of sprinkles as you like for more or less color and sweetness.
