Ingredients
Pasta
- 16 ounces fettuccine pasta
Steak
- 2 pounds New York strip steak, cubed into bite sized pieces
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Alfredo Sauce
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 3 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups parmesan cheese, finely shredded
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil a salted pot of water over high heat in a large pot. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
- Sear the Steak: While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the cubed steak with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Sear the steak in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan, cooking for 2-3 minutes until a brown crust forms. Remove from the skillet and keep warm covered with foil.
- Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same or a clean skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not burnt.
- Add Cream and Milk: Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and milk, stirring continuously until fully combined and the mixture starts to bubble gently.
- Incorporate Seasonings and Cheese: Slowly whisk in the parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Continue whisking until the sauce is smooth, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Combine Pasta and Steak with Sauce: Add the cooked fettuccine and seared steak pieces into the Alfredo sauce. Toss gently to coat everything evenly and heat through briefly.
- Serve: Garnish with extra shredded parmesan cheese and freshly chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your rich and flavorful steak Fettuccine Alfredo!
Notes
- For best results, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese instead of pre-shredded for a smoother sauce.
- Do not overcrowd the pan when searing steak to ensure a good crust.
- The sauce thickens more as it cools; serve the dish immediately after combining everything.
- You can substitute New York strip steak with ribeye or sirloin for different flavor profiles.
- Adjust seasoning in the sauce according to your taste preference before adding pasta and steak.
