Description

These Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sliders are a delicious and satisfying morning treat featuring soft Kings Hawaiian rolls loaded with scrambled eggs, pepper jack and cheddar cheeses, and crispy cooked meat. Baked to golden perfection with a buttery sesame seed topping, they are perfect for breakfast gatherings or meal prep.

Ingredients

Bread

  • 1 package Kings Hawaiian Rolls

Cheese

  • 6 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Eggs

  • 8 large eggs

Meat

  • 6 slices meat (such sausage – recommended)

Other

  • 1 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F. This ensures the oven reaches the right temperature for baking the sliders to golden perfection.
  2. Cook the Meat: Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, then cook the meat slices until crispy, flipping once after about 5 minutes. This should take around 10 minutes in total. Remove the cooked meat and leave the rendered fat in the pan.
  3. Whisk the Eggs: Crack all 8 eggs into a large bowl, season with salt and pepper, then whisk until fully combined and slightly frothy for a uniform scramble.
  4. Scramble the Eggs: Reduce skillet heat to medium-low and pour the egg mixture into the rendered meat fat. Gently scramble the eggs, stirring occasionally until just set but still moist, about 5 minutes.
  5. Slice the Rolls: Using a sharp serrated knife, slice the entire package of Kings Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise. Arrange the bottom half of the rolls in a baking dish, fitting them closely together.
  6. Layer the Sliders: On top of the bottom half of rolls, place the 6 slices of pepper jack cheese evenly, then spread the scrambled eggs over it. Sprinkle 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese on top of the eggs, and finally layer the cooked meat slices evenly.
  7. Top with Butter and Seeds: Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the layered ingredients. Melt 1 tablespoon of salted butter and pour it evenly over the top rolls. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sesame seeds evenly over the buttered surface.
  8. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated 350°F oven. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the tops turn a deep golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Notes
