Description

This easy biscuit recipe requires no milk and comes together quickly with simple pantry ingredients. Fluffy on the inside and golden on the outside, these biscuits are perfect for breakfast or as a side with any meal. You can bake them in the oven or use an air fryer for a quicker, just-as-delicious result.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup Vegetable Oil
  • ¾ cup Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 410ºF (210°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for the biscuits.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: Sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt into a large mixing bowl to combine evenly and add air.
  3. Add wet ingredients and combine: Pour in the vegetable oil and water. Using a rubber spatula, mix everything until a dough forms and pulls away from the bowl.
  4. Prepare the dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to just over ½ inch thickness for the perfect biscuit height.
  5. Cut the biscuits: Use a round biscuit cutter, about 2-3 inches in diameter, to cut out roughly 7 biscuits from the dough.
  6. Place and bake: Arrange the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  7. Optional air fryer method: If using an air fryer, preheat it to 385°F (195°C). Line the basket with parchment paper and place biscuits in a single layer. Cook for 12 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning.
  8. Cool and serve: Let the biscuits cool slightly before serving with your favorite toppings or accompaniments.

Notes

  • If you don’t have a biscuit cutter, use a glass or even a knife to shape the dough into squares.
  • You can substitute vegetable oil with melted butter for a richer flavor.
  • Do not overmix the dough; mix just until combined to keep biscuits tender.
  • Ensure the oven is fully preheated before baking for best texture.
  • Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container and reheat before serving.
