Description

This easy Beef & Ramen Noodles recipe combines savory ground beef with tender ramen noodles, flavored with garlic, ginger, and a perfect balance of sweet honey and salty soy sauce. Topped with scallions, black sesame seeds, and a drizzle of spicy chili oil, this quick and flavorful dish is ready in just 30 minutes, making it a perfect weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (or tamari or coconut aminos)
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 6 oz ramen noodles (from a packet or your favorite gluten free noodles of choice)
  • ½ cup chopped scallions
  • 3 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 2-3 tbsp Chili Oil or Chili Crunch (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Heat Oil and Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the finely diced onion, garlic, and chopped ginger. Sauté these aromatics for about 4 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, using a wooden spoon to break the meat into small crumbly pieces. Cook for 4 minutes until the beef starts to brown.
  3. Add Honey and Soy Sauce: Stir in the honey and soy sauce, then continue cooking for another 5 minutes. Allow the beef to caramelize slightly, enhancing the flavor and color.
  4. Cook Ramen Noodles: While the beef cooks, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook following the package instructions, usually about 3-4 minutes. Drain the noodles when done.
  5. Combine Beef and Noodles: Pour the beef broth into the skillet with the beef, then add the drained ramen noodles. Toss everything together thoroughly with tongs to evenly distribute the beef and broth throughout the noodles.
  6. Finish with Toppings: Add the black sesame seeds and chopped scallions to the skillet. Toss again to mix the toppings well.
  7. Serve: Divide the beef and ramen mixture into bowls, then spoon the chili oil or chili crunch over the top to add heat and extra flavor. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute the soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option.
  • Adjust the amount of chili oil or chili crunch based on your preferred spice level.
  • Use gluten-free noodles if you have gluten sensitivity or prefer a gluten-free meal.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated on the stovetop or microwave.
  • For extra vegetables, consider adding bell peppers or snap peas during the sauté step.
