Description
This Easy Baked Ravioli Lasagna is a simple and delicious twist on traditional lasagna, combining layers of cheesy ravioli, savory seasoned ground beef, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella baked to bubbly perfection. Perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner, this recipe requires minimal prep and delivers big on flavor.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef (90/10)
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 (25 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 20 oz package refrigerated cheese ravioli (such as Rana 4 Cheese Ravioli)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the lasagna.
- Cook Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and Italian seasoning. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until it is browned and no longer pink, ensuring even seasoning throughout.
- Assemble the Lasagna: In a 9×9-inch baking dish, spread ¼ of the marinara sauce evenly on the bottom. Layer half of the ravioli in a single layer on top of the sauce. Then add half of the cooked ground beef over the ravioli. Sprinkle ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly. Spoon another ¼ of the marinara sauce over the cheese layer. Next, add the remaining ravioli in a single layer, followed by the remaining beef. Pour the remaining sauce over everything and finish by topping with the remaining 1½ cups of mozzarella cheese.
- Bake: Place the assembled baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the dish is bubbly and the cheese is fully melted and slightly golden.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes. This helps the layers to set, making it easier to slice and serve.
Notes
- Using refrigerated ravioli simplifies this recipe, but you can also use frozen ravioli if you adjust the baking time accordingly.
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner protein option.
- For a vegetarian version, omit the ground beef and add cooked vegetables such as spinach or mushrooms.
- Allowing the dish to rest after baking helps the lasagna set and improves slicing.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
