Description

This Easy Baked Brie with Apples recipe features a wheel of creamy brie cheese topped with caramelized apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and crunchy pecans. Baked to perfection, it’s a warm and comforting appetizer perfect for sharing, offering a delightful blend of sweet and savory flavors with a buttery texture.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 apple, peeled and chopped into ½-inch pieces
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 8 oz. wheel of brie
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Apples: Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Peel and chop the apple into ½-inch pieces to ensure even cooking during sautéing.
  2. Caramelize Apples: Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped apples, brown sugar, and a pinch of cinnamon. Sauté the mixture until the apples soften and the brown sugar reduces into a sticky caramel glaze, about 10 minutes.
  3. Prepare Brie: Score the top of the brie wheel in a hatch pattern to allow flavors to seep in and create texture. You may optionally remove the top rind or leave it intact. Place the brie in a small baking dish.
  4. Assemble and Bake: Spoon the caramelized apples evenly over the top of the brie, then sprinkle with chopped pecans. Bake the assembled dish in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until the brie is warm and slightly melted.
  5. Serve: Serve the baked brie hot with crackers, bread, or additional apple slices for dipping and spreading.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use a tart apple variety such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • You can substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds if preferred.
  • Scoring the brie rind allows the caramelized apples to seep into the cheese, but removing the rind completely will make the texture creamier.
  • Serve immediately after baking for the best gooey texture.
  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator and gently reheat before serving.
