This Middle Eastern-inspired treat combines the textures of a delicate chocolate cup with a creamy ganache and fresh fruit, making it perfect for special occasions or elegant gatherings.
Ingredients
For the Chocolate Cups:
- 200 g dark chocolate or milk chocolate, melted
For the Filling:
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 200 g dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar, adjust to taste
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
For Decoration (Optional):
- White chocolate drizzle
- Crushed nuts (almonds, pistachios, or hazelnuts)
- Whipped cream
Instructions
- Make the Chocolate Cups: Melt 200 g dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl using a double boiler or microwave, stirring every 30 seconds to avoid burning. Coat silicone cupcake molds evenly with the melted chocolate using a spoon or brush. Freeze for 10-15 minutes until the chocolate sets. For a thicker shell, repeat the coating process and freeze again.
- Prepare the Ganache Filling: Heat 1/2 cup heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer, making sure it does not boil. Pour the hot cream over the 200 g of finely chopped dark chocolate and let it sit for one minute. Stir gently until smooth and glossy. Incorporate 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, mixing well. Allow the ganache to cool slightly before assembling.
- Assemble the Cups: Remove the chocolate shells from the freezer and fill each cup with chopped fresh strawberries. Pour the prepared chocolate ganache over the strawberries, filling the cups completely. Smooth the surface with the back of a spoon or spatula. Chill the assembled cups for at least 1 hour until the ganache is firm.
- Serve and Enjoy: Carefully unmold the chocolate cups from the silicone forms. Decorate with optional white chocolate drizzle, crushed nuts, or a dollop of whipped cream if desired. Serve chilled for the perfect combination of crisp chocolate, creamy ganache, and fresh strawberry flavors.
Notes
- Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
- Make sure to chill the cups well to ensure the ganache sets properly.
- You can substitute strawberries with raspberries or mixed berries if preferred.
