Description

These Crockpot Almond Joy Candy Clusters are a deliciously rich and chocolatey treat packed with chewy coconut and crunchy almonds. Easy to make in your slow cooker, these no-bake candies meld the perfect balance of smooth melted chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, and nutty flavors for an irresistible dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 270 g semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 bag)
  • 225 g chocolate almond bark or semi-sweet Baker’s chocolate (8 oz)
  • 300 ml sweetened condensed milk (1 can)
  • 100 g sliced almonds
  • 2 cups unsweetened medium coconut
  • ¼ cup whole almonds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add Ingredients to Crockpot: Place the chocolate almond bark, semi-sweet chocolate chips, sliced almonds, sweetened condensed milk, and unsweetened shredded coconut into the crockpot.
  2. Melt and Combine: Set the crockpot to the low setting and allow the mixture to gently melt together, stirring halfway through to ensure even melting and mixing. Cook for about 1 hour until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Mix Thoroughly: Once melted, stir the mixture well to make sure all the coconut and almonds are evenly coated with the chocolate mixture.
  4. Prepare for Setting: Line a baking sheet with muffin cup liners or parchment paper to prepare for shaping the clusters.
  5. Form Clusters: Using a small cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop generous portions of the chocolate and nut mixture into each muffin liner, creating clusters.
  6. Garnish: While the chocolate is still soft, place a whole almond on top of each cluster to create the signature Almond Joy appearance.
  7. Chill to Set: Transfer the tray to the refrigerator and let the candy clusters set and firm up for about 1 hour.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate to significantly improve the flavor and texture of the candy clusters.
  • If your crockpot runs hotter than usual, check the mixture around 45 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt before chilling for a delightful sweet-and-salty flavor contrast.
  • For a festive twist, sprinkle crushed candy canes or drizzle melted white chocolate over the clusters after they have set.
  • Store the candy clusters in the refrigerator to keep them crisp or freeze for up to two months to prepare ahead of time.
