Description
A quick and delicious Crescent Taco Bake combining seasoned ground beef, salsa, and melted cheddar cheese on a flaky crescent roll crust. Perfect for an easy and family-friendly taco-inspired dinner.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
- 1 packet of taco seasoning
- 1 1/4 cup salsa
- 8-ounce roll of crescent rolls
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded (freshly shredded for best melting)
Optional Toppings
- Taco toppings of choice (such as lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, or jalapeños)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Crescent Crust: Unroll the crescent dough and press it firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, ensuring to seal all the seams and stretch it evenly to the edges to create a uniform crust.
- Cook Beef Mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, combine the browned and drained ground beef with taco seasoning and salsa. Stir and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and ensuring the mixture is heated through.
- Assemble the Bake: Evenly spread the warm beef mixture over the crescent roll crust in the baking dish. Generously sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef layer.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent dough edges turn golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from the oven, slice into squares, and serve topped with your favorite taco toppings if desired for added freshness and flavor.
Notes
- Use freshly shredded cheddar cheese instead of pre-shredded for a better melt and texture.
- Make sure to press and seal the crescent dough seams to avoid leaking during baking.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- This dish can easily be doubled for larger gatherings by using two baking dishes.
