Description

Classic fudgy brownies with rich cocoa and dark chocolate chips, baked to perfection with a moist and chewy texture. This easy-to-make recipe yields a delightful treat that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened chocolate chips (dark chocolate preferred)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 325°F. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray, then line it with parchment paper. Spray the parchment paper with additional cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, salt, and baking powder. Stir these ingredients until they are well mixed to ensure even distribution.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth and slightly frothy to incorporate air and create a uniform mixture.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the dry ingredients into the bowl of wet ingredients. Gently stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix which can affect the texture of the brownies.
  5. Bake: Scrape the batter into your prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 48 minutes. Test doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes. Once cooled, lift the brownies out using the parchment paper and cut into 9 squares to serve.

Notes

  • For richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips as recommended.
  • Do not overmix the batter to maintain brownie texture.
  • Check baking time early as ovens vary; brownies are done when a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Allow brownies to cool fully before slicing to ensure clean cuts.
