Description

Delicious and crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch Rice Paper Spirals, featuring a flavorful filling of cooked chicken, ricotta cheese, smoky bacon, and ranch seasoning, all wrapped in tender rice paper and air-fried to golden perfection. Serve as a satisfying appetizer or snack with optional ranch salad dressing for dipping.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 2 cups cubed cooked chicken
  • 1/2 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese
  • 4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning blend

Other

  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 rice papers (8 inches)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Ranch salad dressing, optional

Instructions

  1. Make the filling: In a large bowl, combine the cubed cooked chicken, whole-milk ricotta cheese, crumbled bacon, and ranch seasoning blend. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure optimal cooking temperature for crisp spirals.
  3. Rehydrate the rice paper: Beat the eggs in a shallow bowl. Working with one sheet at a time, dip two rice paper sheets into the beaten eggs for 15 to 30 seconds each until they become soft and pliable. Remove the sheets, letting excess egg drip off, then overlap the two sheets by about 2 inches on a flat surface. Allow the rice paper to continue softening slightly before rolling.
  4. Fill the rice paper: Spread a quarter of the chicken mixture along the center of the overlapped rice papers. Fold both short ends over the filling, then fold one long side over it, rolling tightly into a long cylinder. Position the seam side up and gently curl the roll into a spiral shape. Repeat with the remaining rice papers and filling.
  5. Prepare for air frying: Brush the tops of the spirals with leftover beaten egg and sprinkle evenly with sesame seeds. Place the spirals on a well-greased tray in the air fryer basket and lightly spritz with cooking spray to enhance crispiness.
  6. Air-fry the spirals: Cook the rice paper spirals in the preheated air fryer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and crisp.
  7. Serve: Remove the spirals from the air fryer and serve warm with ranch salad dressing on the side, if desired.

Notes

  • When rehydrating rice paper, do not let the sheets sit too long after dipping in egg or they may stick together.
  • You can substitute cooked shredded chicken if preferred.
  • For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like chives or parsley into the filling.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, these spirals can be baked in a conventional oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes.
  • Ensure the air fryer basket is well greased to prevent sticking.
