Description

This rich and flavorful Cajun Garlic Butter Sauce combines melted butter with aromatic garlic, fresh parsley, tangy lemon juice, and a bold blend of Cajun spices. Perfect for enhancing seafood, chicken, or vegetables, this sauce takes just 10 minutes to prepare and serves 8.

Ingredients

Butter Sauce

  • 1 stick butter (divided, about 8 tablespoons)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced or grated)
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh parsley (minced)
  • 2 Tablespoons Cajun seasoning (homemade or storebought)

Homemade Cajun Seasoning

  • 3 Tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Garlic: Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced or grated garlic and cook gently for 1 minute, allowing the garlic to infuse the butter without browning.
  2. Melt the Remaining Butter and Combine: Add the remaining butter, fresh parsley, lemon juice, and Cajun seasoning to the saucepan. Whisk together to combine all the ingredients evenly.
  3. Cook the Sauce: Allow the butter mixture to cook over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, so the flavors meld together into a rich, aromatic sauce.
  4. Make Homemade Cajun Seasoning (Optional): In a separate bowl, mix all the seasoning ingredients—smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, kosher salt, ground white pepper, ground mustard, dried oregano, dried thyme, cayenne pepper, and dried basil. This seasoning can be used for the butter sauce or reserved for other dishes.
  5. Serve: Use the finished Cajun Garlic Butter Sauce immediately over your favorite grilled meats, seafood, vegetables, or starches for a flavorful punch.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought Cajun seasoning if you prefer convenience.
  • The sauce is best served fresh but can be reheated gently to avoid burning the butter.
  • Adjust the cayenne pepper amount according to your preferred spice level.
  • This seasoning blend yields more than needed; store the extra in an airtight container for future use.
