Description

This Buffalo Chicken Dip Crescent Ring is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer combining spicy buffalo chicken dip with soft, flaky crescent roll dough. Perfect for game day or parties, this recipe delivers a flavorful, cheesy, and slightly tangy dip wrapped in a golden, baked ring that’s great for sharing.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 2 cups cooked, diced chicken (or about 2 cans of chicken, drained and shredded)
  • ½ cup finely diced celery
  • ½ cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • ½ of a 1-ounce packet dry Ranch seasoning mix (about 4 teaspoons)

For Serving

  • Ranch salad dressing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking your crescent ring.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray. Unroll both tubes of crescent roll dough and separate into 16 triangles. Arrange the triangles on the baking sheet in a circular pattern, overlapping the wide ends to form a ring that resembles a sun. Lightly press the wide ends together so they stick.
  3. Make the Chicken Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the cooked diced chicken, finely diced celery, and buffalo wing sauce. Stir well so the chicken is evenly coated with the spicy sauce.
  4. Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese with half the packet of dry Ranch seasoning. If the cream cheese is too firm, microwave it for about 15 seconds to soften, which makes mixing easier and results in a smoother filling.
  5. Combine Filling Ingredients: Add the cream cheese mixture to the chicken mixture and stir until fully combined, making sure the filling is creamy and evenly mixed.
  6. Fill the Crescent Ring: Spoon the chicken and cream cheese mixture over the wide ends of each crescent dough triangle. Then carefully fold the pointed ends of each triangle over the filling and tuck them under the wide ends, leaving the filling partially visible on top.
  7. Bake: Place the assembled ring in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the crescent dough is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
  8. Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • You can substitute canned chicken for cooked chicken to save time.
  • If cream cheese is too cold, microwaving briefly helps with easier mixing.
  • Make sure to tuck the crescent points securely so the filling doesn’t leak during baking.
  • For a milder version, reduce the amount of buffalo sauce.
  • This recipe can be prepared ahead by assembling and refrigerating the ring before baking.
