Ingredients
Shrimp
- 1 lbs steamed shrimp (thawed, peeled and deveined)
Seasonings
- 1 tbsp Girl Carnivore Over Easy seasoning
- 2 tbsp Brunch Junkie seasoning
- 1 tsp black pepper
Sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup vodka
- 1-3 tsp hot sauce (to taste)
- 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
- 2-4 tbsp horseradish
- 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
- 1/2 onion, minced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 lemon (juice only)
To Serve
- Jewel or bib lettuce leaves
- Lemon wedges (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep the Shrimp: Pat the steamed shrimp dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Place them in a large bowl and season both sides evenly with the Girl Carnivore Over Easy and Brunch Junkie seasoning blends.
- Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, vodka, hot sauce (start with 1 tsp and adjust to heat preference), and BBQ sauce. Stir well until smooth.
- Add Horseradish and Pepper: Mix in the horseradish and black pepper to the sauce, stirring thoroughly to incorporate the spicy and tangy flavors.
- Add Vegetables and Lemon: Fold in the finely chopped celery, minced onion, and garlic. Squeeze the juice from one lemon into the mix and stir once more to combine all ingredients well.
- Marinate Shrimp: Pour the sauce mixture over the seasoned shrimp and toss gently to coat all shrimp evenly. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Serve: When ready to serve, arrange jewel or bib lettuce leaves on a serving platter. Place several shrimp coated in the sauce inside each lettuce cup. Leave extra shrimp in a serving bowl nearby with additional lettuce cups so guests can help themselves. Garnish with lemon wedges for a fresh citrus touch.
