Description
A quick and refreshing iced matcha latte made with ceremonial matcha powder, hot water, ice, your choice of milk, and a hint of sweetener. Perfect for a cooling, energizing drink in just 5 minutes.
Ingredients
Matcha Base
- 1 tsp ceremonial matcha powder
- ¼ cup hot water (boiled but not boiling)
For Serving
- Ice, as needed
- 1 cup milk of choice (soy or oat recommended)
- Sweetener to taste (about 1 tsp maple syrup suggested)
Instructions
- Whisk the matcha: In a small bowl, whisk together the matcha powder and hot water using a matcha whisk or milk frother until smooth and lump-free. If you don’t have a whisk or frother, you can blend the matcha and hot water in a blender for the same effect.
- Prepare the glass: Fill a glass with ice cubes to chill and provide the refreshing base for the latte.
- Assemble the latte: Pour the whisked matcha over the ice in your glass.
- Add milk and sweetener: Top the matcha with your choice of cold milk. Sweeten to your preference using maple syrup or any sweetener of choice. Stir gently to combine all the flavors.
- Enjoy: Your easy iced matcha latte is ready to drink — delight in this creamy, energizing beverage!
Notes
- Use ceremonial grade matcha powder for the best flavor and vibrant green color.
- Boil water then let it cool slightly before whisking matcha; boiling water can make the matcha bitter.
- Adjust sweetness based on your taste preferences or dietary needs.
- You can substitute maple syrup with honey, agave syrup, or a sugar-free sweetener if desired.
- This recipe can easily be scaled up for multiple servings.
