Description
Crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges, perfectly seasoned and quick to prepare. These wedges are tender on the inside with a crisp outside, making a healthy and delicious snack or side dish.
Ingredients
Sweet Potato Wedges
- 1 medium sweet potato (about 9 ounces)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil or vegetable oil)
- 1 1/2 teaspoon seasoning blend with salt (such as pepper and garlic, Kinders “The Blend” preferred)
Garnish (Optional)
- Chopped parsley, cilantro, or basil
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes to ensure it reaches the right temperature for crispy wedges.
- Prepare Sweet Potato: Peel the sweet potato if preferred, or scrub thoroughly if leaving the peel on. Cut the sweet potato in half lengthwise.
- Cut Into Wedges: Place the halves cut side down. Turn the large wedge flat with the pointed side down to make slicing easier. Cut 3 thinner wedges from each quarter by slicing downward with a knife.
- Toss with Oil and Seasoning: In a medium bowl, toss the sweet potato wedges with olive oil and sprinkling the seasoning blend evenly over them. Stir to coat all wedges thoroughly.
- Prepare Air Fryer Basket or Rack: If using a basket style air fryer with a nonstick rack (like the 5.5 quart Ninja), no oil spray is needed. For oven-style air fryers with metal racks, spray the rack with oil to prevent sticking.
- Arrange Wedges: Lay the seasoned wedges in a single layer on the air fryer rack or basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
- Air Fry: Cook the wedges at 375°F for 8 minutes. Then flip the wedges with tongs and air fry for an additional 2 minutes until edges are crisp and the inside is fork-tender.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with chopped parsley or your choice of herbs if desired. Serve the wedges warm with your favorite dipping sauce like Comeback Sauce.
Notes
- You can leave the sweet potato skin on for added texture and nutrition, just be sure to scrub well.
- Seasoning blend variations can include smoked paprika, cumin, cayenne, or any preferred spices for personalized flavor.
- This recipe easily doubles or triples for larger groups.
- Use tongs carefully to flip wedges to maintain their shape and prevent breaking.
- Adjust cooking time slightly depending on the size of wedges and your air fryer model.
